Named in recognition of the Union soldiers stationed at our vineyard site during the Civil War who chose this land for its high relative elevation, our Encampment is a medium-bodied blend of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Cabernet Franc, and 20% Petit Verdot.
Cabernet Franc is a signature grape in our region and the exceptional 2017 vintage produced this reserve wine. Aged for 18 months in 100% French oak, this wine displays classic floral and black pepper tones over a core of red bramble fruit and silky tannins.
Chambourcin is a French-American hybrid grape especially suited to sustainable farming practices in the mid-Atlantic. Fermented and aged for ten months in concrete and French and American oak, this medium-bodied wine displays vibrant red fruit and a velvety mouth feel.
Named for the Seneca Creek that bisects our vineyard sites, the 2017 Seneca is a blend of 71% Merlot and 29% Petit Verdot. Aged for 18 months in 100% French oak, this full-bodied red exhibits fruit flavors of cherry and blackberry, combined with savory notes of graphite and leather.
